Dante's Overlook is windy and often cold. It is the highest point in the park, and offers a bird's eye view of the Southern area of the park.

Panoramic View Of The Mesquite Sand Dunes In Death Valley National Park.
Taken Late In The Afternoon. I was driving into the park and heading toward the motel to check in when I realized that I was passing up one of the day's better time to take photos. So I turned around and came back to this spot and I'm glad that I did because the shadows had formed an image of what appears to be the likeness of a face. This surprised me, I didn't notice the face like image until I processed the digital file later that evening.

Storm Coming
After taking a number of photos on this sand dune, I noticed the sky ahead darkening on this late afternoon and decided with the storm coming our way, it was time to "pack it in", after one more shot.

It was early morning and the sun was coming up and reflecting on the mountains ahead of me. I thought that I was alone but noticed two travelers on ahead.

In Death Valley National Park, there are acres of Joshua Trees. I was able, on a late afternoon, catch the moon at the right point in one of the Joshua Trees.
