Hal Tyler > Snow Geese Migration At The Assatigue Island National Seashore

Last fall, we visited the Assateague Island National Seashore to see the annual bird migration. We arrive just in time to watch a large number of snow geese arrive and for about an hour watched as they continued to arrive. Then, as if on schedule, the geese on the impoundment left, filling and darkening the sky.

Hal Tyler > Gray Go-away-bird

From a boat in the Okavango Delta region of Botswana, I caught the image of this pair. Their voice is a drawn-out "g' waay". Sometimes this bird will shriek and growl like a cat. Usually found near the water.
