World's Longest Teak Wood bridge at sunset.. The U Bein footbridges stretches almost 3/4 of a mile over the Thaungthaman Lake which is near Amarapura. The bridge is heavily used by monks who carry their alms bowls back and forth to the Maha Ganayon Kyaung Monastery. 1,000 teak posts were used and the bridge has stood for over two centuries.
